Peter has been in and around the game of golf most of his life. He started playing golf at age 9. At 17 he started working on the golf maintenance crew at Black Butte Ranch during the summers. After graduation from college (University of Oregon BS Fine Arts, 1987) he worked as a sales representative for a golf equipment distributorship owned by Peter and David Jacobsen. All the while Peter continued to draw and paint as he has since childhood.

Because of a varied golf background, he feels he is able to capture the true essence of a particular golf course in his paintings. “I know how a course is mowed, irrigated, set up and built. I know how it feels to witness a spectacular sunrise in the Cascade mountains, while mowing greens at the first visible light. My way of sharing those experiences is through my paintings.”
